"The Astrodome: Eighth Wonder of the World" Documentary Screening

Thursday, July 14, 2016 | 6 PM - 8 PM Central Library, Program Place (4th Floor) | 500 McKinney St., 77002 The Houston Public Library’s (HPL) Astrodome Memories Project is hosting a screening of “The Astrodome: Eighth Wonder of the World” on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place at Central Library, Program Place (4th Floor), 500 McKinney, 77002. “The Astrodome” is produced by Chip Rives and his company, Texas Crew Productions in conjunction with the MLB Network. The hour-long documentary tells the story of the Dome’s beginnings and its place in the cultural history of Houston through contemporary interviews, vintage footage, and archival sources. The event will include an informal discussion with the filmmaker, Chip Rives, following the screening facilitated by Mike Vance of Houston Arts and Media.
